Water Analysis
back to the overview
In
a calm and quiet loneliness lies in a protected natural park the
thermal bath Babócsa. In the summer months the open-air bath can
be used, the inside basin is all year round at your disposal. The water
is outstanding suitable for the treatment of gynaecologic and rheumatic
complaints, of illnesses of the joints and the spinal column as well as
to and treatment after fractures. Against stomach complaints the water
is also used as drinking cure.
The
fortress Babócsa mentioned in 1450 for the first time, fell with
the attack of the Turks 1555 as one of the few castles of Hungary
without fighting, when it was betrayed. One can still see here very
well how in the Turkish time fortifications were built. In the East of
Babócsa you find the Pasha Garden, which is said to be an relict
of the Turks. In April and May you find here an unbelievable quantity
of a narcissus, which changes the Pasha garden into a white sea of
blossoms. It is a particularly rare and very warmth needy kind and so
the entire area is a protected nature resort.
In
Castle Hotel Bikal there is a very elegant thermal and bath and
wellness centre. The hotel is built in the style of 19th Century and
waits with a stylish service. The attached bath is waiting in
accordance with quality services, but the atmosphere doesn't come
from the past of bathing days, but is highly and nowadays. Moreover,
there is a modern sports centre attached to the Castle Hotel. Of
course, it doesn't only serves hotel guests.
Bikal
the village is nestled in the hills at the north of the Mecsek
Mountains. Dense woods, fields and extensive outstretched lake areas
determine the rural region. The Puchner Castle is located in the
charming village, which is easily accessible form both
Dombóvár and Bonyhád.
Csisztapuszta
is a small bath, whose large advantage is - beside a particularly good
thermal water - the geographical proximity to Lake Balaton. The 108 F
warm water, containing a lot of mineral materials in excellent
composition, mainly hydrogen-carbonate and sulphur, additionally
important quantities of carbonic acid. Guests can supply themselves in
the bath with warm and cold meals.
1943
was found a 163 F hot sources while digging for oil. It is
alkali-hydrogen carbonate containing thermal water with high
concentrations of organic compounds. Due to the iodide ions content it
can be assigned to the group the iodide therapeutic waters. The bath is
nowadays certified for the treatment of illnesses of the movement
organs and degenerative illnesses the spinal column. The thermal
camping on the bath area grants direct passage to the bath.
The
bath Gunaras is lain about 43 miles in the south of Lake Balaton, 28
miles in the north of Pécs and the Mecsek Mountains, in front of
the gates of the small town Dombóvár. In the sixties of
the last century the thermal water was discovered and the bath was
opened in 1973. Four years later it was it was declared a health spa
with therapeutic water. Nowadays Gunaras is more important,
continuously developing cure resort in Southern Transdanubia. The
therapeutic water is an alkali-hydrogen carbonate containing thermal
water (131 F) with a high fluoride content. In the health spa all year
round physiotherapy and balneotherapy, comprehensive medical services
(26 different treatment types) are available to the guest; sauna,
solarium and qualified masseurs are at your disposal. On the 17 acres
large park of the thermal and bathing beach offers not only basins with
different water temperatures, but also a paddle pond, a giant chute and
various sports, fishing and entertainment offer fun, recovery and
relaxation.
Harkány
is one of the most important cure and therapeutic baths of Hungary. The
therapeutic effect of the water as well as the favourable situation
with that nearly Mediterranean climate carry for healing respectively
to support the treatment of many diseases and suffering. Thus
Harkány also the "Mecca of the rheumatism patients" is called.
The water, which arrives from 5000 feet depth with approx. 145 F at the
surface and is particularly good for healing. The bath essentially
consists of two from each other separated basins. One has a water
temperature of approx. 100 F and the other one of approx. 90 F. The
active substances are alike in both basins. A completely special
stimulus is given in the winter, when the water steams at low outside
temperatures and it possibly also snows in addition.
The
place was already in the time of Turkish occupation well known for its
therapeutic water. After the Osmanic troops in late 17th century were
driven out the natural resource went ever more into oblivion. The
swampy area was not worth a journey to anybody. 150 years ago the in
Hungary well-known family Batthyány began with the use of the
wells. Since then the ascent of the place began. Until today everything
is determined by the hot water in the village. Accordingly the hotels,
pensions and restaurants are well developed.
The
world-wide well-known health resort Hévíz lies nearby
Lake Balaton, close to the city Keszthely and ranks among the probably
most important thermal baths in Hungary. The Hévíz
thermal lake is worldwide the second largest thermal lake, it has a
surface of 11 acres and is approx. 120 feet deep. The lake is fed by an
underground thermal source, it has also in the winter still a pleasant
temperature of at least 77 F. In the summer the water temperature is
around 95 F. Hévíz actually has about 6000 inhabitants,
the many tourists and visitors however are far more. The heart of the
city is the thermal lake, which already exists several ten thousand
years. At that time rose the warm source, which feeds the lake still
today. Already the old Romans knew and used the curing effect of the
Hévíz water. In the year 1795 count Festetics developed
the place to a therapeutic bath, by establishing different bathhouses
and health resort facilities. Nowadays about 900.000 visitors come to
this place each year. The water of the lake of Hévíz is
suitable for the treatment of different diseases.
The
place is dominated beside the thermal lake, on which from April to
Octobers water lilies are flowering and in that which diving is
possible, by hotels and sanatoriums. The accommodations cover 10,000
guest beds in all categories. Recovery you will find also in the park
all around to the lake, which has many walking ways. Culture programs
take place regularly, above all the "Gallery Hévíz" is
very active here about, in which all year programs can be visited
beside the also regularly hold exhibitions.
The
approximately 2000 inhabitants counting settlement owes its
European-wide name to the therapeutic water. In the thermal bath -
opened all year round - several water basins with different
temperatures, which are filled with from 651 m depth coming, 169 F warm
thermal water, expect the recovery of looking guests. The therapeutic
water of Igal is alkali-chloride and hydrogen carbonate containing
thermal water. In the bath medical personnel and a specialist for
rheumatology provide for your imminent recovery and give depending upon
diagnosis useful pieces of advice. On the bath area you find several
restaurants, stands, wine and beer tubes and much more besides that.
The
old bathouse has been demolished some time ago and a completely new
building was erected and opened in June 2003. Thereby Igal is a modern
and comfortable bath with a lot of facilities. But much more important
than architecture is the extreme high water quality and the good care
in both medical and tourist meaning. Further the bath is situated very
central, well reachable from Lake Balaton, close to the beloved centres
of village tourism and not far to the important cities in the Southwest.
Kaposvár
is lain on the two banks of the river Kapos 116 miles from Budapest.
The bath lies 10 minutes from the city centre in a pictorial
environment and fresh air behind the Jókai wood. The bath covers
about 12 acres. The therapeutic water is alkali-chloride and hydrogen
carbonate containing thermal water, which has also a smaller bromine
and iodine content as well as a more important fluoride content. It is
suitable primarily for the treatment of illnesses of the movement
apparatus, circulatory disturbances and joint illnesses, but it can
successfully be used also to gynaecologic therapies.
Kaposvár
is the capital of the komitat Somogy. All supplies, which can be
expected in such a city, can be found here. For a detailed description
of Kaposvár see our information aboutSomogy.
In
the pleasant shady park, which covers 7 acres and accommodates numerous
rare plant species, 4 basins are at the disposal of the guest. The
first thermal source was found in 1958 with drillings, when one
researched for uranium ore. Since the thermal water was proved as
healthy, in 1962 a further well followed. The thermal water can
successfully be used against rheumatic complaints, circulatory
disturbances and illnesses of the nervous system. It contains hydrogen
carbonates, sodium, potassium, iron, magnesium, sulphate, calcium,
chloride, iodine, carbonic acid and paraffin. The fluoride containing
water means an outstanding preventive protection against illnesses of
the teeth.
Marcali
belongs to the younger baths in Hungary. In 2003 was the opening of the
approximately 8 hectares large park. The new bath is very modern and
has with all requirements. From its character, it is a beach with all
modern comforts, but missing a few shady trees. With the old baths of
Hévíz and Zalakaros nearby Marcali competes mainly by low
prices and relinquishes this to a broad-based medical program.
The
1989-1990 in the northwestern part of the town established bath of
Nagyatád, which uses a formerly closed hydrocarbon well in the
valley of the brook Rinya, offers space for 2000 people. The natrium
carbonate containing thermal water, which is suitable primarily for the
treatment of rheumatic illnesses and joint diseases, is led directly
from the thermal source into the basins as well as in the bath tubs and
the showers. On the 15 acres large beach is also a camping established
in 1991.
One
of the latest thermal baths in Hungary is unfortunately currently
closed for financial reasons. The bath of the 1970s has been replaced
by a new built bath with all facilities. 2004 the bath opened with all
the medical facilities. On the land around the bath a high-quality
residential park in pleasing contrast to the well-known holiday
villages is planned.
The
town-bath of Sellye is due to the thermal water found here not just a
typical beach, but also a bath promising especially the relief of joint
pain. In course of time, further increasing the facilities for bathing
facilities, as well as recreational value have been added.
The
Spa Hotel is located in a small, lovely valley surrounded by forests.
The modern facility is open to everyone and offers next to a modern
environment and the necessary facilities of a bath with medical
meaning. The outer area is embedded in the beautiful nature. The baths
has a special emphasis on family-friendliness. There is a separate area
for the youngest, which is set up very exactly according to the
balneological needs and limitations of children.
In
memory of Roman baths traditions, the bathing centre was opened in 2006
and got the name of Emperor Galerius. The modern bath receives its
water from the nearby Nagyberény and thus spares the tourist the
trip to the Balaton back-land. The spa offers thermal water treatments
for a myriad of other treatments, and also much to entertain the
guests. The operators want the guest to relax physically and mentally,
and so designed a high-quality atmosphere.
A
very natural treasure, accompanied with an incomparably beautiful
landscape close to Szigetvár, is the 144 F warm therapeutic
water, full of mineral salts and noble gases. It was discovered with
drillings in the year 1966. The thermal water is sodium chloride and
alkali hydrogen carbonate containing, which is outstanding suitable for
the treatment of rheumatic and joint illnesses. Due to the important
fluoride content it slows down age conditioned bone decreases and even
the emergence of caries with children. The iodide ion content
contributes with drinking cures or by inhalation to the healing of
thyroid illnesses and works preventively against the emergence of
iodine deficiency diseases. The thermal bath offers a lasting
experience to all guests of Szigetvár. The bath lies in a quiet
and calm environment in the proximity of the city centre and offers
you, no matter whether you are looking for healing or just mentally and
physically regeneration, excellent possibilities.
In
the historical city at the foot of the Mecsek Mountains live today
13.000 inhabitants. Already the Romans knew this settlement and named
it Limosa. The city received the today's name after the castle, which
was established on an island in the brook Halmas (Szigetvár =
Island Castle). 1566 the border fortress of that time defied with a
crew of only 2,500 men the Osmanic army of hundred thousand men for 33
days, until a powder explosion in the internal castle destroyed the
fortress. The Turks had so expensively paid for this victory that the
course to Vienna had to be stopped. Still today the enormous brick-red
ruins are impressing. Clear traces of the Turk time are to be found up
to the today's day, for example in form of the mosque or magnificent
houses of Turkish architecture. In addition Szigetvár is well
known, for its Christian architecture - represented all above through
in the baroque churches.
The
thermal bath and it's camping are lain at the foot of the wooded castle
mountain on a green area of 7 hectares. The 7 differently large basins
are kept at a moderate temperature. Annually recover about 150.000
visitors here. The two basins equipped with seats are fed by a thermal
well, the water shoots out at a temperature of 126 F from 6500 ft
depth. Due to high salt, alkali chloride and hydrogen carbonate content
it was declared to be a therapeutic water. The pleasant water
temperature of the remaining basins is guaranteed by a 115 F warm
thermal source. The therapeutic effect of the water is usable against
deformations of the joints, the spinal column, with wear of cartilage
as well as in the after treatment of accident and other orthopaedic
damage. The modern equipped pools fulfil the requirements of each
float. As services healing and refreshment massages, solarium and
cosmetics are offered but also sauna, water chute and tennis court at
your disposal.
The
1965 established bath experienced in the past years a comprehensive
development. The thermal water originating from 2700 m depth is a
hydrogen carbonate-, iodine-, bromine and sulphur hydrogen containing
therapeutic water with high concentrations of organic materials and
salt solutions and an important content of fluoride, metabor acrid and
metasilic acid. In the well-equipped medical department a lot of
balneologic, hydraulictherapeutic and electricaltherapeutic treatments
are to the disposal of the guests. The extraordinary therapeutic centre
makes a most extensive recovery possible. The considered bath with the
medical department and the therapeutic centre is all year round opened,
while the open air bath, lain in a park, is only opened seasonally.
Zalakaros
is lain 22 mi. in the west of Lake Balaton, 9 miles from the city
Nagyakanizsa at the feet of the hilly country of southern Zala, shaped
by wine gardens and forests. The old settlement and the vacation
village, the bath and several hotels, are situated in a beautiful
environment, lends the ambiance of a town to the settlement. According
to the present knowledge about the first mention the village originates
from the year 1254, then it was mentioned under the name Korus. First
it was only a settlement inhabited by Hungarians only, later however
brought the wife of king Béla IV foreign settlers here. In 16.
and 18. century the settlement was mentioned as small market town the
first time.
